MetLife Foundation's mission is to support low- and -moderate income individuals and communities build a more confident future. The Foundation partners with non-profit organizations to co-create programs that empower young people and adults to develop the workforce skills and entrepreneurial mindset to be competitive in a new economy, establish a career, earn family sustaining wages and access to benefits, and build wealth to achieve intergenerational economic mobility.

MetLife Foundation partners with Bunker Labs, a nonprofit supporting military-connected entrepreneurs by providing the resources that help veterans launch, sustain and grow their businesses and to ensure that military-connected entrepreneurs and their families have the network, tools and opportunities they need to start successful ventures throughout the United States.
The Foundation supported Bunker Labs’ virtual events, which have provided increased access for veteran entrepreneurs to learn how to launch and sustain their businesses, and also supports The Transition podcast, which provides storytelling, subject matter expertise, and introductions to the Bunker Labs community aimed at helping veterans transition back into the civilian workforce.
In 2022 MetLife Foundation made a new grant to digitalundivided to help Black and Latina women create, launch and grow their enterprises. This grant supports digitalundivided in executing a series of programs designed to help Black and Latina entrepreneurs grow their business at each stage of the entrepreneurial journey through idea generation, pre-revenue, growth, and scaling of their businesses and enabling individual net worth growth and doubling of participant business valuation.
Since 2019, MetLife Foundation has partnered with Generation to enhance the financial health of young people through skilling, training, and employment, setting them on a path toward earning a steady income and improving their long-term financial health. In 2021, Generation enrolled more than 1,600 students from low-income families in workforce programs and in tech roles. As a result, Generation achieved a 92% graduation rate and 81% placement rate within 90 days—66% of students were women.
Since 2018, MetLife Foundation has partnered with Girls Who Code, which provides rising 11th and 12th grade girls with a unique blend of computer science, sisterhood, and careers in technology through a seven-week program. MetLife Foundation and Girls Who Code have expanded their relationship to increase inclusion of girls, women and nonbinary individuals in the tech talent pipeline by launching a new mentoring platform and embedding financial education in its curriculum.
Technovation is a global technology and entrepreneurship education nonprofit with a mission to empower girls and their families to tackle real-world problems using cutting edge technologies, such as mobile and artificial intelligence. With a grant from MetLife Foundation, Technovation partnered with the Chile-based nonprofit Tecnología con Nombre de Mujer to engage youth, parents, educators, and mentors in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) entrepreneurship programs, reaching 550 girls.
